In most cases, Google Meet will do what is needed for video conferencing. If you're convinced that Google Meet won't do what you need for a particular meeting, or if you need to host a webinar (with or without AV support), use the relevant section below.
Reserving (and using) the AMBS IT Department's Zoom Account
If at all possible you should use Google Meet. Google Meet is included with your AMBS Google Workspace account, and has very nearly the same capabilities that Zoom does (including recording, polling, QA, and breakout rooms).
But if you need Zoom to accommodate guests with low internet bandwidth, or need some other feature that only Zoom provides, then you may reserve the AMBS IT Department's Zoom account to use for the meeting you are hosting. Note: if you find yourself doing this frequently, consider making a Zoom requisition request (requests will be considered according to AMBS policy about Zoom accounts.)
Requesting a Paid Zoom Account
If you find that you require Zoom for hosting video conferences on a regular basis (at least 12 times per year), make a Zoom requisition request.
Hosting a Webinar ...
... without AV support
If you want to host a webinar and don't need tech support, reserve the AMBS Webinar Zoom account and sign in to Zoom to set up your webinar. ... with AV support
Use the Webinar Scheduling and Hosting Checklist to ensure you're doing the critical things you need to do. Hint: if it's less than two weeks before your planned webinar, it's too late to ensure AV assistance for your webinar. Either manage it without AV or choose a later date.
